Overview

AR Controls are an industrial controls and automation company located in the North East of England who operate at various customers sites around the UK. Due to continuous growth and ever-increasing demand we have a vacancy for a Mechanical Fitter who can complement the existing engineering team. A successful individual will be working on various projects, manufacturing and integrating bespoke systems such as Conveyor Systems, Automated Guided Vehicles, Robot Cells, and PokaYoke fixtures.

Key requirements to apply
  • Mechanical fitting or assembly NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
  • Mechanical experience (5+ years)
  • Must be able to carry out all production operations in accordance with the company’s health & safety policy.
  • Read and understand mechanical drawings.
  • Can take information from drawings or blue prints and assemble bespoke systems.
  • Have strong communication skills to work on multiple/concurrent projects.
  • Must be able to work closely with colleagues ensuring projects are completed within agreed timeframes providing customer satisfaction.
  • Have the ability and knowledge to remove and fit of precision components
  • Have excellent knowledge and experience of mechanical principles
  • Good understanding of the automotive sector

Electrician

Overview

AR-Controls are an industrial controls and automation system integrator. We operate at various customer sites around the UK. Due to continuous growth and ever-increasing demand we have a vacancy for a qualified electrician with Industrial – commercial installation experience. This is a newly created position to complement the existing Installation team.

Previous experience working within the automotive sector would be a distinct advantage but not essential.  The candidate will need to be computer literate and have strong communication skills at all levels. A positive, proactive and collaborative team approach is also required.  Occasionally there may be additional engineering activities to perform, however the emphasis of the position will be on electrical Installation.

Key requirements to apply
  • Installing containment (ladder, conduit & cable tray-work etc.), cable terminating and installation
  • Installation of control panels
  • Testing and inspection of electrical Installations
  • Having the flexibility to work on and off site and on any task as required.
  • Any other duties as required within the skill set of this role.
Your Qualifications and Attributes
    • An electrical qualification (City and Guilds, 17th Edition Electrical).
    • The ability to work from electrical schematics.
    • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong attention to detail and able to work with minimal supervision.
    • Be able to work alone or as part of a team.
    • Possess a valid clean driving licence
    • IPAF licence would be advantageous
    • Inspection and testing would be advantageous

Electrical Designer

AR-Controls are an industrial controls and automation system integrator. We operate at various customers sites around the UK. Due to continuous growth and ever-increasing demand we have a vacancy for an Electrical Design Engineer with E-plan experience. This is newly created position to complement the existing engineering team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the design of control systems and customer control panels, development and updates of new BOM, be able to interpret customer design specifications, produce well organised electrical layout drawings and wiring schematics. Occasionally there may be additional engineering activities to perform, however the emphasis of the position will be using E-plan to design and issue electrical schematics to engineering team.

Key requirements to apply

To qualify for the role, candidates must have:

  • Industrial or commercial electrical engineering background.
  • Experience working with automotive sector (would be a distinct advantage but not essential)
  • Knowledge and experience using E-plan to design is desirable
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD would be considered beneficial.
  • Candidate must be computer literate
  • Strong communication skills at all levels
  • Candidate must also have a positive, proactive and collaborative team approach

Electrical Supervisor

Overview

Due to the significant growth of our business, we have created a new role which we require filling immediately. We are currently seeking a highly organised, motivated and competent Electrical Supervisor with specific responsibility for the safety, technical standards and quality of our electrical installation work. The Electrical Supervisor will be required to liaise with the Engineering Team and coordinate the work load, staffing and site activities across multiple sites including the company’s own facility.

Key requirements to apply

  • Liaising with our Customers
  • Planning & scheduling the workload
  • Good understanding of electrical installation and ability to read an electrical drawing
  • Estimating time and materials and ensuring all items are issued on time as required
  • Assigning and delegating tasks to the appropriate personnel within the work force
  • Determine and implement procedures for installation, modifications and maintenance tasks
  • Inspect all work to ensure compliance with our company standards and record data/results
  • Mentor and support the work force
  • Good communication skills and command respect
  • Implement and ensure all health and safety compliance is met and adhered to
  • Role will include regular weekend work
  • On occasion, work may need to be carried out at unsocial hours
  • May be required to travel and / or to stay away over night
Your Qualifications and Attributes

Knowledge of or experience within the automotive electrical engineering sector/Tier 1/Tier 2/ Contracting/ Major Projects with 5 to 10 years relevant experience in a similar role. Electrically competent and with up to date 17th/18thth Edition wiring regulations. Hold relevant NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds 2391 / 2394 / 2395 certification.

Salary&Benefits

Salary between 35k – 50k depending on experience, company pension scheme, 20 days annual leave plus statutory bank holidays, all company branded work wear is provided.
