David Porteous started with AR Controls in 2006 after deciding he needed a new challenge from being an HGV driver for H.M.Forces and other various companies.
He started at AR Controls as a panel wireman, a role in which he prided himself building high quality control panels. Today he has become workshop manager, training others with his skills and keen eye for detail.
During his time with AR Controls David has completed many training courses such as an Introduction to Electrical Engineering, 17th Edition Wiring Regulations, City and Guilds 2391 and 2394-01 Inspection and Testing, and has recently completed a level 3 NVQ Diploma in Installing Electro-technical Systems and Equipment.
David also project manages PLC upgrades, machine safety upgrades and communication network installations, issuing full test certification. He has surrounded himself with very good team of panel builders, electricians and apprentices who all work to his very high standards.
